Karen Fischer
Karen has 20 years experience in the hi-technology
sector in product management, marketing and sales. She has held executive roles
with start-up companies as well has experience working for larger organizaions and Fortune 500
companies where she has been responsible developing and growing the business in marketing, sales
and channel development roles.
Start-up
Experience
Karen was the first employee hired in the Siemens Enterprise Networks Division in
Canada where she worked closely with executive management on development of the business plan and
go to market strategy for regaining access to the Enterprise telecom portfolio in the Canadian market.
The first 18 months was spent building a new business for the products in the Canadian
market including securing funding and support from the home office in Munich, Germany. She was
responsible ongoing for development and management of the channel in Canada along with overall marketing for
that division.
Karen worked for illumiCell Corporation, now Multiplied Media as Director of Partner
Development which was a start-up based out of Calgary, Alberta in the local search
market. She was the 5th employee and not only was responsible for partner
development and management, she worked closely with the Investor Relations firm on materials and marketing
requirements and deliverables required through the IPO process. Most recently Karen was Vice
President of Business Development at Aizan Technologies which was a mature SaaS voice
solutions start-up in Richmond Hill, Ontario where she was responsible for building their Tier 2
channels to market and channel strategy and was a member of the executive
team.
Additional
Experience
Karen held a General Manager's role at Pitney Bowes Canada where she had overall
responsibility for a 8M P&L and 41 employees at a purchased acquisition of a dealer of mailing
equipment. In addition, has also held various marketing, product management, channel development,
and sales roles at Cognos, Corel, Entrust, and Mitel.
Karen has a B.A. from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in Psychology and a minor
in computer science.
